Translation
When it rained heavily
when dark clouds overcast
when thirsty Ganges flowed
when my own shadows seemed distant
with monsoon of love
you showed up one evening
My bangle, bracelet chattered
my anklet too sounded the bells
henna of my hands turned red
my bindya turned into moon
my kohl turned dark
my tresses spread like night
with gift of all these dreams
you came one evening
Then you expressed your love
and opened your heart to me
though my heart agreed to the love
but frigidly I kept quiet
you longed for my smiles
but I could not express the words
you looked at me and returned
with tears in eyes
I could not stop you
the evening you came
Now I look to your paths
I live and die with a hope
my bangle, anklet, bracelet too
my henna, kohl, bindya too
my dreams too, my sleep too
waiting with a hope that
with bundles of happiness
you will come one evening
with gifts of my dreams
please tell me you will come
with the same sentiments again
please write to me you will come
one evening……….

Khawab…I hope you did not wait for my response..did you ? 😛
Shahrzad…you will remember these days 🙂
Aashley…could be….but waiting passively for something to happen itself is not a good idea…thats one thing that I have tried to convey.
Nayni…Thanks…generally, my first thought come in urdu:-)
UTP…I think even today it is very much applied to majority of the girls in our culture…and I guess they are modern too.
Yes,some girls do propose first…but most of the time its the guy who takes first step…and then listens 😀
Sumera… Enjoy till it lasts 😀 .
